NTPMUD - National Tall Persons Meet-Up Day events – Friday 26th June, 2026 – request for assistance and attendance!

In summary - Help make a TPC Tall meetup happen in a town or city near you, by coordinating or attending it! Please contact Val and Noel at NTPMUD@tallclub.co.uk to offer assistance and be part of “Something TALL!” We will add new NTPMUD events here at www.tallclub.co.uk/events as people commit to make them happen!

In a little more detail - We as the Tall Person Club GB and Ireland are determined to celebrate International Tall Persons Day on 27th June 2026 by organising the UK and Ireland wide Tall Persons Meet-Up Day 2026 on the evening of Friday 26th June, 2026 at venues across the country. This event has been running each year since 2019 (barring covid!) and we are determined to match or beat the record of 12 brave people who previously stepped forward to coordinate a Meet-Up at a venue near them in previous years in places such as London, Bristol, Manchester, Birmingham, Belfast, Dublin, Glasgow, Newcastle, Leeds and other towns/cities in the UK. Some areas have chosen to organise a lunch, outing or even a BBQ in the weekend following the 26^th June – which is fine – whatever works for you!

To make this work for this year, we need people to step forward as co-ordinators (simple task, we promise!) and reserve a space in a venue, act as a local focal point for that meet-up, greet people and general enjoy the tall company at most of these location. If you are prepared to do so, please offer your support to Val and Noel at NTPMUD@tallclub.co.uk – where your offer of assistance will be graciously received. Many of you ask on club forums about meet-ups in your area – here is a chance to help make it happen!

We are about to make tall folk across all our geography aware of these local and the umbrella events – not just our own paid up members, but also members of the Tall Persons Club GB & Ireland Facebook group and other fellow travellers on the tall road in places like the TALLternative Retail Facebook group. That’s a potential population of several thousand plus people to draw from. Even if only 1% turn out, it will still be fun!

We expect that the event may garner some publicity before during and after the events, and a press briefing guide will be provided. We will also have a short guide for coordinators.

Please get involved– it is a chance to raise awareness of the issues faced by tall people and the many simple approaches that can be taken to help alleviate them.

• Education about height and medical conditions that lead to taller-than-normal people.

• Lobbying of legislators, designers and manufacturers to consider tall people inclusively in their design and deliver clothes, transport and furniture that fits

• Social and information exchange – a chance for the less confident Tall person to witness examples of Tall people living life more fully and adapting the world to them, rather than them to the world. And sharing information as to where tall things that fit or work can be found.
