24th TPC GB & Ireland 2025 "Annual Doo" and Gala Dinner!

Last year saw another increase in numbers gathering in Peterborough to celebrate and commune with other Club members, including many coming for the Friday and Saturday nights and daytime activities in between.  This year we are aiming to have more fun with more people!

This year, we have booked the beautiful four star Delta Hotel, Swindon, which is part of the Marriott group. It has been recently renovated, has a Spa, Indoor Pool and Fitness Centre, Restaurant, Bar and many other facilities – and we’ve managed to negotiate free car parking too!

The Gala Dinner on Sunday 24th August 2025 will be held in their stunning Uffington Suite and an allocation of bedrooms are held on a group booking rate for the next four months for us for all three nights.  As has been the way for the last few years, we will organise and sell tickets for the Gala Dinner but attendees will be responsible for selecting and booking their own accommodation according to personal preferences.  We have negotiated a substantially discounted Bed and Breakfast rate on your behalf so it’s well worth booking at the Delta hotel.  Some folk may consider booking cheaper accommodation nearby, but feedback from previous attendees tells us that you miss out on the informal camaraderie which takes place over breakfast, passing in the corridors, etc And..... it’s so much simpler to go back to your room within the hotel at the end of each night without having to worry about taxis, driving, etc.  

Following last year’s increase in attendee numbers, we very much encourage early booking and have structured pricing for the event with early bird discounts.

Gala Dinner ticket price is £65 per person which includes a pre-dinner drink on arrival, a three course dinner followed by tea and coffee (choices and dietary options available), a drink or two on the table and of course a disco afterwards to dance the night away!  But there is an Early Bird discount rate of £55 for members who book by 5th June 2025.  Gala Dinner tickets can be obtained at the Tall Club webstore. Ticket Booking will close on 7th August 2025.

The Organising Team have been working very hard on your behalf researching the Swindon area for places to visit and group activities for the Friday/Saturday/Sunday for those who make a full weekend of the celebrations. For anyone interested in trains, there is a major Great Western Railway heritage locally.  Other places of interest include the Swindon Designer Outlet Shopping Centre, Museums, Walking Tours, Sporting Events, Historical Sites, not to mention being less than an hour from the historic cities of Bath and Cheltenham and the beautiful Cotswolds!  We will be organising Friday and Saturday nights activities and dinner again for those who want to join us - details to follow. We will also scope interest in other activities taking place over the weekend and likely book a number of events enabling people to sign up for them through our online shop on our website.

Swindon can be accessed easily by road, being close to the M4 – around half way between London and Bristol – and is a rail hub for the Great Western Railway.  Rail services connect to Swindon from London and Bristol, East Midlands, London and Birmingham airports. London Heathrow RailAir links to Reading allow an easy connection to Swindon or you can take a direct coach.

A brief AGM will take place on the Sunday afternoon to cover the business of TPC (GB & Ireland) Limited Company.  The Gala Dinner will start with a Welcome drink at 7pm, sitting down to the three course dinner at 7.30pm followed by dancing the night away to the DJ/Disco into the small hours.  Drinks vouchers will be included for all attendees with the number of vouchers being adjusted to balance ticket price and overall event cost.  A cash bar will also be available after the vouchers have run out!  

This is a great opportunity to reconnect with tall friends.  For those who are newer to the Club or attending for the first time, it’s a wonderful opportunity to experience the joy of being around other tall folks. 

Finally, there will be one or two surprises along the way this year - don’t miss it!
