I found it very comfortable and was able to sit fully forward with my legs bent comfortably beneath me. This did mean I had to adjust the height of brake and gear lever but so worth it. One point to note is you sit up very straight up on this bike and if your tall the wind is a killer on the motorway with the standard screen. Legs and bum hurt before the need to refuel (however, I improved comfort with a raised seat, fitted adjustable pegs and a full fairing - could do with raised handlebars though). In summary, unless you seriously modify the CB500, expect some considerable discomfort on longer (100miles+) journeys. As I am 1.97 cm tall and have especiallly long legs too, I had trouble finding a motorcycle that fitted me. The SV (2003-?) however fits very well. The tankshape gives room for my knees, so that the legs can come real close to the motorcycle (which many other tanks prevent). The riding position i very compfertable, only problem I noticed is the but and hands starts troubling me after 3+ hours of riding, but thats probably the case for most non-cruising-motorcycles. Cuts through traffic like nobody's business and has plenty of low down grunt, but a limited tank range and 100mph top speed make it a pain on motorways. If you only ever ride in town though, you could do much worse! This must be the only bike actually designed FOR tall people. Anyone under 6'5'' won't touch the ground. Best wet weather bike I've owned. Mosst comfortable Harley I've owned. However lack of rear suspension can be jarring and overall handling dubious. More space than on the Yamaha Diversion I later bought (after crashing the bandit) and good for long journeys. Legs are cramped but the fairly upright riding position is good for the back. I would have fitted wider bars if I was keeping the bike longer. Next bike will probably be a Yamaha TDM or Triumph Tiger. Because there not a fairing on it there no restrictions for your legs. Every 150 miles or so i got a bit of cramp in my legs but it usually needed more petrol by then so it worked quite well. My back started to ache after 500 miles or so i cant grumble to much at that. For short distances it a lovely bike. For long distances is a lovely bike. I've had it 15 months and have done over 23000 miles on it in mostly comfort.
