I have 8cm clearance over my head, the underside of my upper legs actually rests on the drivers seat, with my legs nearly straight. I have long preferred Automatics, and the gearbox on the B Class is exceptional. Economy is good, and the performance is good for its class of vehicles. With the drivers seat fully back, its still possible for someone to sit behind, although not another tall person. Luggauge space is apple too. Great car for tall people. This is my 4th fiesta. I always buy the 3dr version as it adds slightly more room and you dont bash yourself on the door posts getting out the car. A lot of cars I have tried I find Im looking out of the rear side window instead of the drivers window. The only drawback I have found is if someone parks very close it can be awkward to get in the car because the doors are so long. The back seats move backwards on runners so plently of legroom in the back even with the drivers seat fully back (although boot size is slightly reduced). Note however that headroom in the back is slightly restricted for the taller person - although fine for short journeys, need a break after 2 hrs. Though eye level is well below the top of the windscreen, fat front pillars - contain airbags. These restrict visibility a bit on the Golf, so watch out for this(common to many modern cars). My last car was a Renault Megane Scenic, with far better visibility, though a lack of thight support in this became an issue for me. The steering wheel is telescopic meaning that after adjustment I can even fit my knees under it. The seat goes very far back, in fact too far even for me so this car is ideal for people with exceptionally legs. I can have the seat right back and still get someone in behind me. The level of kit is very good for this type of car. The side lights are raised up so you know how wide your car is when driving it. I used to drive a Smart 4-2 but needed a bigger car, thus this car. On one trip I got from Glossop to Irvine nr Glasgow via the Lake District on £20. I would recommend this car to anyone. I have found all of them comfortable for me but only now is there real space behind my seat. The seats, as in all models, supportive to my frame but only good for my legs if I have it tilted slightly back. Because of my long back my head is close to the roof and to be comfortable in my old age I have to sit up and look down through the windscreen losing some visibility of high up objects (and get funny looks from others as I am only visible from the nose down!). Otherwise it is a great car to drive, a quality build and performance (wish I had got the 2.3 Turbo!) with a high level of equipment. Rush out and buy one now before it's too late. We are a family of Skoda lovers - my mum and dad are currently on their fourth - a 2007 Octavia estate. The Superb is no exception. Its name is spot-on. Although the body is the same as the VW Passat, the Superb represents better value for money. The model I drove was very well equipped and was an automatic. The performance was brilliant, and importantly, there was ample space inside: excellent headroom and legroom. Even drivers over 6' 6" would fit in quite comfortably. I had to wear the largest crash helmet they had available, which itself was a tight fit. Most importantly, the interior, as expected, was quite cramped. I had to move the seat right back to fit my legs into the footwell, although I was OK once I was happy with the position. As one would expect from an Aston, it had supercar performance, with a top speed of around the 190mph mark. Overall, the space was just about adequate for my 6ft 3in frame (plus large helmet), but taller drivers may be find fitting in more difficult. I would give the overall rating of the DB9 a 9, as it is a phenomenal car and I thoroughly enjoyed driving it, but lower marks on the more practical issues of space. No real problem driving the car but I felt too cramped on the test drive for it to be a sensible purchase, so I ended up buying the next model size up: the i20, which I've also reviewed. The driver's seat didn't seem to go back very far so if the seat runner had been longer maybe this car wouldn't have felt quite so cramped. Otherwise it's a good car for the money but the i20 is a lot better all round (space, design, quality, toys etc) for not a lot more money. Steering wheel moves in/out as well as up/down, which makes for a comfortable driving position. Have been driving the car for 2 months now (from new) as a daily driver and I'm very happy overall. Very easy to drive and great fuel economy (58mpg, according to the display on the dashboard) with the 1.2 litre petrol engine. Only complaint would be slightly jiggly ride quality (as noted by the car mags) but at least it means that the car doesn't lean much in the corners, unlike the floppy old VW Polo I drove before. Note that as a passenger in the front seat my knees are very close to the dashboard, but I've found the same in my father's 2005 Honda Civic, which is a Focus/Astra-sized car. If only car manufacturers would use longer seat runners on their front seats (Ford and BMW seem to have the right idea here)! Very comfortable, plenty of head room and leg room, foot rests for both feet which is unusual and plenty of room in the foot well for my size 14s. I did a 1700 mile road trip in my first one, doing 600 miles in a day and felt totally comfortable. I covered 60,000 miles in my first one before trading it in. Higher spec models (sporting , HGT) needed to be most comfortable as the lower models do not include lumbar support. Unfortunately NONE of the mk2 Puntos have adjustable steering column reach, but DO have adjustable steering rake. This really lets a extremely equipped and practical for the price small vehicle down. I have sat in a punto mk2 with a sunroof and it eat into my headroom quite a bit, but anyone under 6" it wouldnt bother at all i dont think. Passengers sitting behind me also have enough room to be comfortable. The seats in all Saabs are very comfortable and are excellent for long journeys. All the controls are well laid out in a cockpit style giving you quick, easy and intuative control - no reaching over or over extendig. They offer a fair amount of poke across the range with awesome mid-range, ideal for overtaking. The car is discrete yet powerful. My only gripe is that the standard suspension can be a little soft if you prefer a sporty setup as I do, but a set of Bilsteins can be purchased and easily fitted. Comfort behind the wheel is very good, driven it on 350 mile journeys with no discomfort, support from the seat is good with adjustable lumbar support. Steering column is also adjustable, as with most "tall" setups the best setting is to put it high and back towards you to maximise room for your knees, also gives a good arm position too. Headroom is good though top line of windscreen is slightly below the maximum height of the car, doesnt restrict visibility massively though. Headroom is excellent and there's the right amount of legroom for me with the seat all the way back. When taking passengers the drivers seat needs to be brought forward a notch or two, so if you are a family with kids this might not be ideal but its fine for me as I mostly drive on my own or with my wife. Then I tried closing the door - ouch! - the chunkiest and most intrusive metal grab handle ever seen on a car tried to squash my leg into the steering wheel and it hurt! Only by placing my right foot on the accelerator at an angle made it barely comfortable to sit in, but there was no way I could steer the car. I bought one of these recently and find headroom a major problem, and I do not find the driver's seat very comfortable. The problem with headroom is the sunroof - even with the driver's seat on its very lowest setting, my head is brushing the right edge of the sunroof opening. On bumpy roads my head hits it. The only way to 'fit' in the car for me is to either slouch slightly, or sit slightly to the left of where I would like to be. In this way I avoid hitting the sunroof opening, but it is an uncomfortable driving position. It is a great car but as I cannot get comfortable in it, I am considering selling it soon to get a Vectra without a sunroof - I have driven one of those and it has several inches of extra headroom due to not having the sunroof.
