Dear All,
You just might like to know that while I was logged on to a website for Tall Women (because there was a clothing questionnaire, I came across a dating website for Tall Women at www.tallwomen.org. Has anyone tried it out Is completely free.

I recently tried TallFriends. What a waste of time and money!!

Their website doesn't cope with UK postcodes so you can't select for distance. And most of the profiles are for people who have logged on 'within a month' or 'more than 1 month ago' - i.e. people who tried it out for free a while ago and then forgot about it. The most contact I've had has been from guys in Israel.

I also just had a look at the website mentioned above. Not really a dating website, just somewhere to post your personal details for everyone to peruse. I looked at 4 or 5 male UK profiles......not one was over 5ft 10ins.

hi - just wanted to reply to Sue's Tallfriends experience.
There are some far-flung guys that contact you - they blanket-wink all new members (I guess) - my first contact was from Iraq, tehehe - anyway..... you can do a 50 mile radius search (for paid up members) or 100, 200 etc for free n the names that come up first are the most recently logged on!
EEjits n perverts shall contact you!!! They wanna discuss your feet... how broad your shoulders are! - n say that as a short man they long for a tall goddess to worship - this is when you are thankful they dont live in the next town!!!

However amongst the dross are some real GEMS!!!!!

I have met some fabulous folks through Tallfriends, mostly in the UK n US - some I have net - most not - n I would recommend anyone to put up a profile!! - I know of several tallclub mambers who have - n it has been discussed in the chatroom - so ask away if you need more info.
My only concern is there are very few new profiles generally, n like yourself I am not best suited geographically to meeting folk from the site - though you are nearer London, where most seem to reside. So please spread the word that the site is great n you shall have "better pickings"

No you can't do a 50 mile radius search, or any other distance. Their site doesn't recognise UK postcodes so you end up with everyone in the UK who meets your other criteria. Neither can you order your search results by distance, for the same reason.
I ended up paying for membership mostly because I wanted to use this facility. There's a disclaimer on the Search page that says that distance searching only works in the US and Canada, but I don't know now whether that was there before I joined or only since I complained. Anyway, I regret spending the money.

I've used other dating websites previously. I don't suppose this one is actually any worse or better than any other, but I was disappointed. I guess I should learn to expect less.

In my experience most internet dating agencies are extremely dicey and you do get some strange characters joining them.

The tallwomen.org site mentioned at the beginning is run by my friend Joerg in Germany. He gets contacted alot by UK confused teenagers and he passes them onto me to help them and show them the direction of the TPC here. i think it is a great site over all. I have been on there with height articals i've done years ago.
Any tall ladies wit interesting items to add to his site, please contact him, he'll be pleased to hear from you

And not many ladies actually on the tallwomen.org site either!

Now here's a strange one for you to debate about.I tried all this internet dating thing for almost 2 years, which resulted in me deleting all of my accounts at end of last year. There are actually girls online who admit to putting a height taller than they actually are online to try and attract guys! Well, considering fact that people like myseld prefer tall girls, finding out that a girl at 6'6" is actually 5'4" is not very helpful.

Main thing about dating for many is honesty. If you want honesty, you won't find it anywhere on internet dating! It's just another front for 'most' to hide behind.

I tried Tallfriends as well, not many UK girls over 6'0" I'm afraid, and those that are, aremore interested in spending their life on msn as opposed to meeting up. Resulting in internet being one and only hobby.

Good to hear Sue's comments. I'm sure plenty to talk about on this subject......

I have put an advert in AD Trader - here's hoping for some success.

What about puting an advert in the Metro or the TImes or your local paper.

It is quite hard to meet anyone on the internet - have had a few blind dates but they did not work out.

Thinking of joining Dear Dierdrie Dating - Dierdrie is the Sun's Agony Aunt.

People can make up such lies on the internet as well - to attract the females males could say that they played football for their crappy local football team.

Has anyone told lies to impress the opposite sex.?

I have tried many different dating websites in the past, both regular and tall-orientated sites, and none of them have worked for me. I have long since given up with that approach. My situation is further compounded by the fact that I have Asperger's Syndrome.
